1. Who we are
PrintPepper is a product of Apprintable, a print and finishing company registered in England.
2. What data we collect
We collect the minimum data needed to provide our service:
- Email address — when you sign up for early access or submit a trial file
- Files you upload — PDF, image, or design files submitted through the trial tool or the PrintPepper application
- Basic usage data — pages visited, features used (no third-party analytics or tracking cookies are used on printpepper.co.uk)
3. How we use your data
- Email addresses are used solely to contact you about PrintPepper (beta access, feature updates, onboarding). We will never sell or share your email with third parties.
- Uploaded files are processed through our preflight pipeline to generate proofs and production-ready output. Files are used only for the purpose you submit them.
4. File storage and retention
- Trial uploads: Files submitted through the free trial tool are processed and stored temporarily. Trial files are automatically deleted within 7 days.
- Application files: Files processed through the PrintPepper application are stored on our servers for the duration of your use of the service. You may request deletion at any time.
- Backups: Server backups may retain file data for up to 30 days after deletion.
5. Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Application access requires authentication with mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA)
- File storage is on private, access-controlled servers
- We do not use third-party file processing services — all preflight processing happens on our own infrastructure
6. Authorised admin access for support
To investigate support requests or platform-wide issues, authorised PrintPepper admins may view your account in read-only mode. When this is happening:
- You will see a clearly marked banner at the top of every page indicating that an admin is currently viewing your account in read-only mode.
- The admin cannot create, edit, or delete anything in your account during the session. All write actions are blocked at the application layer.
- Every session is recorded in our internal audit trail (start time, end time, admin identity) and is reviewable on request.
- Sessions are time-limited and end automatically when the admin closes them or the time-limit expires.
Read-only support sessions are used only to diagnose problems you have raised with us, or to investigate platform incidents that may affect your account. They are not used for marketing, profiling, or any commercial purpose.
7. Cookies
The printpepper.co.uk marketing website does not use cookies or third-party tracking scripts.
The PrintPepper application (app.printpepper.co.uk) uses essential session cookies required for authentication. These are strictly necessary cookies and do not track you for advertising purposes.
8. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Fonts — for web typography (subject to Google's Privacy Policy)
- SMTP email — for sending proof notifications and system emails
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising or tracking services.
9. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from emails at any time
